Severs Disease
30 June 2010
Many different problems that happen with a child that will not happen in grown-ups. The key explanation for this is that growth is still occurring. For the bones in your body, they start off as a cartilage material and many bones have a number of places in them that have two or more bone tissue centers building. In the heel bone, there is one main centre as well as an additional growing region in the rear of the heel. Both of these join together around age fifteen. Prior to that age, there may be overuse of that growth plate. This is known as Severs disease. There are no long lasting issues with this as the 2 areas of bone blend into one.
