today’s kids are not dumber, right, but smarter and more diverse, though more intellectually, not socially and for survival. like the diet industry: you take in more but still feel un-satiated. you still crave. so, despite more knowledge & enthusiastic, we’re awkward vs older generations, as we mature much later. we know better, that we’re not instinctive advice animals but human because we’re not just programmed but have capacity to change behavior. so, let’s guide our teens, not IGNORE them because we’re too busy. if we have kids, be there for them or don’t have them at all. we can’t have 7 billion people on a planet with so much angst ; ) let’s not be sarcastic, we don’t need to return to agrarian culture, but let’s stop the insanity of ignorance, at home, at school, in the government.

Agreed. I started reading the WSJ years ago because I wanted stories written by a reporter who really understood the subject and could tell me quickly what was important about it. Even in a middle-advice column story about gerbils, there was usually something important about it.

While I appreciate the inherent humor and apparent absurdity that will pop up in a list of 100,000 medical conditions, this story is strong on humor and low on useful information.

I’ll have to wait until I read about it in the NEJM. That’s not the kind of thing a newspaper reporter should want to hear.

People are not really aware of how electricity is brought into our offices, our homes, and our lives, and yet we use it so excessively. If only we are made more aware of what it takes to produce it, then we become more conscious in our efforts to start conserving it. We need to be aware that the main source of this energy is fossil fuels and how their use is affecting our environment through their release of more carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.  We need to see that we can actually help minimize the climate changes occurring in our world by being energy efficient in our daily activities and by advocating green energy as the new source of our power.

Gosh Jason, do you get your information from the same place as David? Agilent was spun off from HP before Carly got there. Carly was hired in July of 1999 and the spin-off of Agilent was completed in June of that year (all HP employees received options to 100 shares of HP stock on that first date advice). So the planning of all this happened prior to Agilent.

As I alluded to David on a post below, we are not free to make up our own facts. Whether I support Fiorina (and as I also stated below I was laid off from HP during her tenure) I would rather the discussion of her be base on facts not on the BS that seems to pass for facts on this board.

Do you understand that the Constitution, which every officer of the U.S. takes an oath to uphold, is the Supreme Law of the land, and not the laws of other countries? There is something very wrong if the Constitution clearly says one thing, and then Justices, using international law, then say it should mean something else? Do you realize that no other country (other than Denmark I think) has a guarantee of free speech enshrined in its constitution? Would you support Justices who restrict free speech because almost every other country does it? Can you understand the difference between thinking that gay funny marriage advice is a constitutional right and that it should simply be left to the States, as the Constitution provides?

By the way, interracial marriage was never unconstitutional, just like gay marriage is not unconstitutional.

Once I reach secondary school, I would place on designer suspenders for men, designer glasses, designer shoes, designer t shirts, designer socks, designer bags and other things that were pricey. Nearly all my childhood friends were intimidated of me since they thought that I used to be the boy from the Duke. They did not realize that I used to be longing being pals together however everything switched different when my parents finally made a decision to transfer me to another school where all the students participate in a very wealthy family at all like me. I guess that was among my most memorable encounters in secondary school that we will not ever forget.
