The revitalization of public services in New Orleans is essential to making the Right of Return a reality for all of this city's Katrina survivors. Unfortunately, the powers that be in this city and Washington D.C. are using the devastation linked to Katrina as a pretext for dismantling the public services here that local people most desperately need. If this campaign to destroy local public services is left unchallenged thousands of New Orleanians will be forced into an early grave and hundreds of thousands of us will be doomed to permanent exile. We must build a mass movement to prevent this from happening.
This meeting will address what needs to be done to:
REOCCUPPY PUBLIC HOUSING!
REOPEN CHARITY HOSPITAL!
REVITALIZE PUBLIC EDUCATION!
BUILD CATEGORY 5 LEVEES!
REHIRE LAID OFF PUBLIC SERVICE WORKERS!
Join us.
