To Avoid Debt You Have to See It

Five years ago if someone had asked me what financial shape I was in, I would have said, “Great!”.   In fact, I was headed for disaster and didn’t know it.  I didn’t see it.  I had plenty of payments and was proud of the number of credit cards in my wallet. My salary more than covered the monthly payments.  Then I lost my job and the only one I could find paid about half the salary.  When I realized I couldn’t make my minimum payments, I sat down and wrote out all my debts, including interest.  It was shocking and I decided to get debt help from a company who specialized in it.  Everything will be paid off in a few years and I now keep a sharp eye on every penny.
