Complexity and productivity

I just read a fascinating article pointing out that productivity and complexity are nemeses of eachother. While many people picture being productive as having many things going at once, the author of the article takes the opposite viewpoint. He says that productivity requires focus, and that having lots of things to do that aren’t necessary really squanders time. Also, another point that interested me was that the aurhor’s PDA didn’t really help him much. Perhaps using a larger-screened device such as a laptop computer makes a huge difference in how productively and efficiently a person can use an electronic device.
